Cadillac Files To Trademark Vistiq In Australia

After decades of absence from Australia, it’s increasingly looking like Cadillac is poised to re-enter the market with its onslaught of electric vehicles in the near future. The luxury marque already filed to trademark the Lyriq name in Australia last year, before filing to trademark Optiq and Escalade IQ just a few months later, indicating that these models will make their way to the land down under in the near future. Now, we can add another nameplate to the list, as Cadillac Society has uncovered that the luxury marque recently filed to trademark “Vistiq” in Australia.

Tagged with application number 2378278, the trademark for Cadillac Vistiq was filed on August 8th, 2023, with the Intellectual Property Office of Australia, under the Goods and Services category of “Motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles.”

Unlike the Lyriq, Optiq and Escalade IQ,  it’s not clear what vehicle the Vistiq nameplate could adorn. However, considering that the luxury marque has been actively testing a luxury EV crossover poised to slot in above the Lyriq, it’s likely that this vehicle could ultimately bear the Vistiq moniker.

Cadillac Society has already spied prototypes of this luxury electric crossover out and about, giving us a good idea of its size, which is expected to mirror that of the Cadillac XT6. Even so, we undertook the challenge of rendering what might be hiding behind all that camo.

It’s also worth noting that the luxury marque filed to trademark Cadillac Vistiq in the United States in late 2021 as part of its “IQ” naming strategy for its electric vehicles. With that in mind, the name seems to be very much alive and well if Cadillac is interested in bringing it to Australia.
