2024 Cadillac Lyriq Driving Range Revised Once Again, Now Rated At 314 Miles

Driving range is a hot topic when it comes to electric vehicles, and the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq is certainly no exception. In fact, the range-per-charge offered by the 2023 Lyriq AWD was only recently made official. Meanwhile, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq has had its estimated range changed several times already, with the latest estimate giving the luxury electric crossover a bit more range than previously thought.

Cadillac’s consumer website now indicates that the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq in rear-drive guise can travel 314 miles on a single charge, which is slightly more than the previous estimate of 312 miles. This updated figure hasn’t been made official on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA)  website for the U.S. as of this writing, but it does appear on Transport Canada site at 505 km (314 miles).

Meanwhile, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq AWD retains its 307-mile range rating, putting it right on par with the 2023 model year luxury EV crossover.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Lyriq RWD utilizes a single Ultium motor on the rear axle, good for 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Opting for the AWD variant adds a second motor to the luxury EV crossover’s front axle, bringing its figures up to 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.

Additionally, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq boasts a revised trim level lineup over its 2023 model year predecessor, adding a new entry level trim called Tech. From there, the Luxury and new Sport trim levels slot in above it as per the revised Cadillac Y-trim level structure, while a Lyriq-V variant is on the way, as exclusively reported by Cadillac Society, bringing a more powerful powertrain to the luxury EV.

Riding on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, the Cadillac Lyriq is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China. Production of the 2023 model year recently wrapped up to make way for the 2024 model.

  1. I think they have a “Wheel of Fortune” “Spin Da Wheel” method of computing this.

The change was not 2 miles it was 6 miles – from 312 of the identical 2023 to 308 to 314.

So, apparently there was no reason to reduce the mileage from the 2023 models – although my 2023 is the first GM plug-in I’ve owned that loses a Mile per Day from running that Choreographed lighting nonsense all the time in my attached garage. All the other GM plug-ins you could walk away from them for a week and the range left would be the same a week later. But this silliness must draw a lot of power, since you hear fans running cooling whatever is running to implement it.

But now they’ve guessed apparently that not only are the 2024s not 4 miles less efficient than the 2023s, they are now 2 miles more efficient – so that is easily just another guess…

Although the pretty non-existent AWD models haven’t changed their efficiency, not that anyone would really know.

I can report that if you stay off the interstates, I can get around 398 miles on my 2023. Minus what is used up when the car is in the garage doing light shows for the neighbors.
