2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing: Here’s The New Maverick Noir Frost Color

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing adds four new exterior colors to its palette: Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, Midnight Steel Metallic, and Maverick Noir Frost. Here’s our first look at the new Frost hue.

Assigned production code GNW and touch-up paint code WA-151H, Maverick Noir Frost is one of 10 exterior colors offered on the ultra-high-performance variant of the Cadillac CT5 luxury sedan, which include:

  • Summit White
  • Black Raven
  • Blaze Orange Metallic
  • Wave Metallic
  • Electric Blue
  • Rift Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
  • Argent Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Midnight Steel Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Maverick Noir Frost (new for 2023)

The Maverick Noir Frost color is a limited-edition flat black hue that adds a whopping $8,120 to the sedan’s price. It can be combined with all three interior colorways offered on the model:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black accents
  • Natural Tan with Jet Black accents
  • Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black accents

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 model, including the addition of a new Driver Assist Package as standard as well as the introduction of a new Bronze Accent Package as an option. The most notable changes include the addition of the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system to the options list, which was previously unavailable on the Blackwing.

The 2023 CT5-V Blackwing also gets a new standard vehicle wrap as an alternative to the available enclosed shipping carrier option. Moreover, the 2023 model also introduced a new 120th Anniversary Edition to commemorate the founding of the luxury marque in 1902. This special edition follows last year’s Collector Series, which stands apart from the rest of the lineup as the first 250 CT5-V Blackwing units produced.

Beyond Maverick Noir Frost, the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will offer other new exterior colors, including Midnight Steel Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Argent Silver Metallic.

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is powered by the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. The six-speed manual transmission is standard, while the 10-speed automatic is optional – both exclusively feeding the rear wheels.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is underpinned by the Alpha 2 platform, which is shared with the Cadillac CT4. Production began at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan on July 18th, 2022.

  1. I love Cadillac, I’m Cadillac Crazy, but 8 grand for a special paint color is insane!

    • Cadillac should make the V-6 CT5-V available in a 6-speed manual for those who can’t spend 100k for a daily driver.

  2. I agree with Leonard! At a minimum. Perhaps black primer would be a better choice for me.

  3. I have a client with a new CT5-V Blackwing, who recently stopped by my office with his spouse to drop off a legal document. I stepped outside to greet him, and saw and heard the car approach my office.

That car is gorgeous, and has a beautiful, but quite menacing engine note. Kinda like a four door Corvette!

I wanted to ask him to let me drive it, but chickened out at the last minute. What a car!

  4. All this hype and excitement over this car, but I’ve had one ordered for nearly a year and the dealer can tell me zilch about a production or delivery date. Guess that’s expecting too much when you’re buying a $100,000 car nowadays 🤷🏻‍♂️

  5. I’m totally amazed that I can’t purchase the car with adaptive cruise control and emergency braking with the manual transmission. I got into the purchase line and when I actually was building it at the dealership couldn’t get what I want.
Older people (like me, a life long car nut)
Want the security of the energy braking and love adaptive cruise control but still enjoy a manual transmission.
