In China, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 sedan sees the addition of the new City Style Edition model. Based on the Premium Luxury trim level, the new model slots under the City Sport Edition and Track Performance Edition sedans, making it the nameplate’s new entry-level option in the Chinese market.
A major distinction between the new City Style Edition and previously-existing models is the fact that the newcomer is closer to the Premium Luxury trim we get here in the States, while the others are based on the Sport trim. It does, however, feature the same updated front fascia with sleek signature full-LED lighting as well as the same updated interior headlined by the new, curved 33-inch-diagonal LED color display.
The new sedan also uses the same powertrain and drivetrain as all other CT5 models sold in China – the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. This is the CT5’s only powertrain and drivetrain configuration in the Chinese market.
Beyond that, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 City Style Edition also features the same advanced safety assistance systems as the other two CT5 models sold in China. The new entry-level model is positioned to better compete in the tough Chinese sedan market thanks to its comprehensive packaging and aggressive price point of 206,900 yuan – or about $28,720 USD at the current exchange rate.
For reference, production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 for the Chinese market is carried out by SAIC-GM, which is a joint venture of the luxury marque’s parent company, General Motors.
Although our fellow enthusiasts overseas have access to the City Style Edition’s value proposition, they miss out on the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing performance models. In fact, Cadillac has not manufactured or marketed any V-Series vehicle with an internal combustion engine in China since launching in the country roughly two decades ago.

What would really be worthwhile is finding out how we’re doing in the Chinese market. Do the Chinese find Caddy attractive & Significantly competitive? Restoring a brand to worldwide status is Job 1. Just mailing in press releases won’t cut it. You guys have set yourself up to be the Cadillac authority so it’s time for tYOU o deliver.
