Cadillac Sunsets CT4 Sedan Without Any Plans For Replacement

We recently reported that the Cadillac CT5 would live on to see a second generation. Unfortunately, the luxury marque has no such plans for the CT4 sedan, which will be discontinued in June 2026. The announcement was made by Global Cadillac VP John Roth.

Given the lackluster sales performance of the CT4, we aren’t exactly shocked by the news. For reference, Cadillac sold less than 1,500 CT4 sedans during Q3 2025, while sales of the CT4’s rivals such as the Acura Integra and BMW 2 Series totaled over 5,000 units each.

From a shareholder’s perspective, dropping the CT4 makes sense. But through the lens of an enthusiast, it’s deflating, to say the least. That said, folks who are hoping to purchase a brand new CT4 before supply dries up will likely have at least a year, give or take a few months, to do so.

Cadillac Society Says…

As someone who has spent his own hard-earned cash on a CT4 sedan, I am certainly sad to see it go. Considering the weight penalty associated with EVs, the dynamism offered by the range topping CT4-V Blackwing will surely be missed. Perhaps the luxury marque has something in store that will assuage these concerns. The continuation of the larger CT5-V Blackwing with a small block V8 and manual transmission would surely do the trick, at an obviously higher price point.

Of course, those who appreciate the more compact proportions of the CT4 sedan might not find much solace in a second-gen CT5. We sympathize with that sentiment, but at least Cadillac sedan buyers won’t be forced into a crossover (yet). If we’re really lucky, Cadillac might even finally bless us with a CT5 wagon. That’s purely wishful thinking, but it’s nice to dream, isn’t it? While we’re at it, let’s do a CT5 Coupe and Convertible, too.

In any case, here’s to the CT4. It might not have been the automaker’s greatest sales success, but it’s still a marvelous machine.
