Wireless Phone Charging Reintroduced To 2022 Cadillac XT6

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 is once again being assembled with the wireless phone charging feature intact, Cadillac Society has learned.

All units of the XT6 that are normally equipped with wireless phone charging are once again being built with the feature. Previously, the feature was constrained as of July 2021.

As a reminder, wireless phone charging is included as standard in XT6 Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and the feature is not offered at all on the base XT6 Luxury trim.

While the wireless phone charging feature has returned, several other features are still being withheld from the 2022 Cadillac XT6 due to the global microchip shortage, including heated seats and ventilated seats along with the heated steering wheel, which have been under constraint since December 2021. However, the luxury marque indicated that it would be able to retrofit these features on units that were assembled without it as soon as the microchip shortage situation allows.

Additionally, certain park assist features are also being withheld from the XT6 luxury crossover, including Rear Park Assist along with Front and Rear Park Assist. At this time, it’s not clear if or when these features will return to the XT6.

The 2022 Cadillac XT6 was also stricken by a supplier issue that constrained the availability of the Onyx Package, which adds a set of dark-themed accents to the vehicle’s exterior. However, the XT6 now has the Onyx Lite Package available, which offers much of the same equipment as the Onyx Package.

As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is offered with a choice of two engines. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) is rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is standard in the base Luxury trim level. These models wear the 350T badge on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the Premium and Sport trim levels feature the naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), which is rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. These models wear the 400 badge on the liftgate. The XT6 is built at the Cadillac Spring Hill Plant in Tennessee.
