2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Onyx Package Currently Unavailable

2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Onyx Package Currently Unavailable

Bundling a variety of dark exterior accents, the Onyx Package was introduced late last year as an option for the high-performance 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V. However, Cadillac Society recently learned that this optional exterior package is currently unavailable to order on the full-size luxury performance SUV.

When it is available, the Onyx Package (production code PDB) is an LPO-level, or dealer-installed, package that can be installed on the Escalade-V or extended-length Escalade-V ESV. It costs $4,795 for the high-performance SUV, and features the following equipment (relevant production codes listed in parentheses):

  • Monochrome Cadillac emblems, LPO (SFZ)
  • Gloss Black Escalade nameplate, LPO (RIK)
  • 22-inch Forged Multi-Spoke alloy wheels with Satin Graphite finish and Laser Etching, LPO (SQO)
  • Wheel locks

While it’s unclear why the Onyx Package has been made unavailable, it’s worth noting that the 22-inch Forged Multi-Spoke alloy wheels with Satin Graphite finish and Laser Etching, are currently not available for the Cadillac Escalade-V. As a standalone option, these wheels cost $4,395. It’s also not clear if the Onyx Package will make a comeback for the 2024 Escalade-V.

Meanwhile, the Onyx Package is also offered on the Escalade Sport and Escalade Sport Platinum models. Instead of the aforementioned wheels, the package for these two trims features a set of 22-inch 12-Spoke Gloss Black finish alloy wheels (production code SSX), and is priced at $2,895. As of this writing, this package is still available.

As a reminder, the high-performance 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V is motivated by the luxury marque’s supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), also found in the CT5-V Blackwing. That blown eight-cylinder powerhouse is rated at a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, making the Escalade-V the most powerful Cadillac ever made to date. That engine bolts to Caddy’s ten-speed automatic transmission, throwing power to all four wheels for optimal traction.

The high-performance luxury SUV is built on the luxury marque’s T1 platform and is assembled at the Arlington plant in Texas.
