The 2024 Cadillac XT4 finally delivers the long-anticipated refresh for the small luxury crossover, bringing updates and improvements including a new front end, revisions to the rear end, a revised interior, and several tech updates. One of these is the introduction of Super Cruise, the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous driver assistance technology. While Super Cruise will still be available for the 2024 Cadillac XT4 refresh, Cadillac Society has now learned that the feature will not be initially available.
During a recent media briefing attended by Cadillac Society, Cadillac global vice president, Rory Harvey, explained that Super Cruise won’t be available on the 2024 Cadillac XT4 right out of the gate.
“Super Cruise is not available, but we do have a plan to introduce it at a point in time,” Harvey said. “We have a rollout plan in terms of Super Cruise by vehicle prioritization, and it is a part of that rollout plan.”
The XT4 does feature Adaptive Cruise Control as an option on Premium Luxury and Sport trims. While not as advanced as Super Cruise, Adaptive Cruise is still plenty capable.
Beyond semi-autonomous features, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 has plenty to offer. As we mentioned earlier, the refreshed CUV features an updated exterior design, with a refreshed grille and new LED lighting signatures to bring the model in line with the marque’s current design direction. Out back, the refreshed XT4 features a reworked fascia, with new reflectors and exhaust finishers.
The biggest news, however, lies inside thanks to a new interior highlighted by a generous 33-inch high-resolution LED color touchscreen, which spans the gauge cluster and center stack. The large curved screen was lifted straight out of the Cadillac Lyriq, where it has been well received. While Super Cruise will be absent at launch, customers can take advantage of other new tech features, like a Wi-Fi hotspot that now runs on 5G rathe than 4G, along with a top-notch AKG sound system.
The 2024 Cadillac XT4 retains the current model’s single engine option, which is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It mates to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional. Production is expected to kick off in April 2023 at the Fairfax plant in Kansas.
