The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing sets the road ablaze thanks to its twin-turbocharged V6 and track-ready chassis. But the ultra-high-performance sedan is so much more than just a capable performer; it’s also quite the head turner, instantly recognizable on the road thanks to unique vertical lighting signatures. Today, Cadillac Society brings you an exclusive video showcasing just how easily those lighting elements cut through the night.
Having recently spent some time behind the wheel of a 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, Cadillac Society executive editor, Alex Luft, recorded how the CT4-V Blackwing looks at night, cycling through the vehicle’s various lighting arrangements both front and back.
First up are the aforementioned vertical Daylight Running Lights (DLRs) bracketing the front fascia. Not only do these lamps serve as running lights, illuminating in white, but they also function as turn signals, turning to amber when activated. Note that there are also amber turn signals integrated into the mirror caps, while the bottom portion of each side mirror features a puddle light.
Luft then shows us the the primary forward headlights. They sit within the thin, rectangular housings that bleed into the upper edges of the front fascia. Activating the high beams makes them illuminate inside the same lens assembly.
The CT4-V Blackwing also features turning lights, also known as cornering lights, that light up the road on either side of the sedan when the steering wheel is turned. These lights, which are located on the inner-most portion of the headlamp assembly, exist to help drivers better see the turn, and identify curbs and other hazards that would otherwise be difficult to see in a dark environment.
Out back, red LED taillights adorn the ultra-high-performance sedan’s rear fascia with vertical assemblies similar to the ones at the front. Rear turn signals occupy an inner strip integrated into the taillight housing, which also illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. We also find LED reverse lights as well as license plate lights that turn into a perimeter lighting system when the trunk lid is opened.
Finally, a Center High-Mounted Stop Light (CHMSL), located at the top of the rear windshield, is activated when the brake pedal is depressed. The CHMSL is no ordinary unit, as it is also stylized.

The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing was all-new for the 2022 model year. It represents the most powerful model within the Cadillac CT4 range, harnessing a set of twin turbochargers mated to the 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4). The setup is rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed exclusively to the rear wheels via a choice of two transmissions – the standard six-speed manual or the optional 10-speed automatic.
