Cadillac Celestiq Was On Display At 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

After months of anticipation and various delays, the Cadillac Celestiq show car finally debuted last month. However, the images that Cadillac shared were highly detailed digital renderings of the forthcoming electric flagship sedan, instead of the real-life version. But the luxury marque brought the show car in its physical form to the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California last week, giving enthusiasts a first glimpse of the show car in person.

Photos of the Cadillac Celestiq show car were posted on social media by Magalie Debellis, Head of Advanced Design at Cadillac. The electric ultra-luxury sedan was presented with a backdrop of red LED lights and spotlights highlighting its unique design. The show car sports a metallic silver exterior paint with gloss black accents, along with rich red leather upholstery.

Up top, the Cadillac Celestiq features a roof with SPD SmartGlass, split into four quadrants of variable lighting, enabling passengers to control their respective zone’s opacity. The Celestiq will also be one of the first vehicles to feature Ultra Cruise, which will be capable of handling up to 95 percent of driving scenarios without human input

Along with highly advanced technologies, the upcoming Cadillac Celestiq will be built in very small numbers at the GM Global Technical Center, thanks to an $81 million investment in the facility and will allow customers to customize even the most minute aspects, such as specific wood for interior trim.

Recently, Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, filed to trademark four names that – Aurora, Mist, Magnetic and Vale – that will likely serve as design themes for the Celestiq. Beyond that, sources have indicated that interested customers should expect the Celestiq to carry a price tag of over $300,000.
