Production Of 2023 Cadillac CT5 To Start In Mid July

The 2023 Cadillac CT5 will begin production in exactly a week, Cadillac Society has learned.

According to our sources, production of the 2023 Cadillac CT5 will kick off on July 18th, 2022. Initially, it was scheduled to begin on July 11th, but was delayed by a week. Assembly of the CT5 range of luxury sedans takes place at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, where the “regular” CT5 is built alongside the performance-oriented CT5-V and ultra-high-performance CT5-V Blackwing

While the “regular” CT5 and CT5-V will enter their fourth model year, the CT5-V Blackwing will enter their second year of production, introducing a special edition model – the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition. This special variant of the super sedan commemorates the luxury marque’s milestone anniversary. Each unit of this limited edition CT5-V Blackwing features a VIN serialized with a four-digit year important to Cadillac history, along with special plaques inside the vehicle, an exclusive shifter medallion, and other aspects. Just 120 units of this variant will be produced.

The “regular” 2022 Cadillac CT5 offers two engine choices. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. Models with this engine wear the 350T badge on the decklid. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury, where it makes 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, identified by the 550T badge. Rear-wheel-drive is standard on these models, while all-wheel-drive is a paid extra. That twin-turbo 3.0L six-cylinder (LGY) is also found under the hood of the CT5-V, where it’s tuned to deliver 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the range-topping CT5-V Blackwing features the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), capable of 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. That engine bolts to either the standard six-speed automatic transmission or optional 10-speed automatic, throwing power exclusively to the rear two wheels
