Back in January, Cadillac confirmed that its flagship SUV would get a high-performance variant dubbed the Cadillac Escalade-V. Now,Cadillac Society has learned exactly when dealers will be able to order the upcoming Escalade-V.
Sources tell Cadillac Society that orders for the Cadillac Escalade-V will open on Thursday, May 19th. In a recent media conference, the luxury marque stated that it would not implement a reservation process for the high-performance luxury SUV. Instead, dealers will be able to place and manage orders from the get-go, instead of going through a reservation process.
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V carries a starting price of $149,990 in the U.S., including destination and freight charges, for the regular-length variant. Buyers can opt for an extended-length Escalade-V ESV if they so choose, but pricing for this model has yet to be announced. Considering that the non-V-Series Escalade ESV costs $3,000 more than the regular-length Escalade, it can be assumed that the Escalade-V ESV will start at approximately $152,990. For the Canadian market, the Escalade-V starts at C$179,998.
The high-performance 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V harnesses the supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4), tuned to deliver 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. The supercharged powerhouse is bolted to the luxury marque’s 10-speed automatic transmission, transferring that power to a full-time active four-wheel-drive system with variable torque splitting capabilities. Cadillac estimates that the new high-performance full-size SUV will be capable of achieving a zero to 60 mph sprint in just 4.4 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of approximately 12.74 seconds at 110 mph.
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V joins the ultra-high-performance Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing super sedans in the luxury marque’s V-Series lineup. It is the first full-size luxury SUV to bear the V-Series badge, and boasts a multitude of premium technologies and features that set it apart from the competition, including V-Mode, which allows the driver to customize vehicle settings such as brake and accelerator pedal feel, steering responsiveness, and suspension settings.
