2021 Cadillac XT5, XT6 Recalled For Improperly Secured Fuel Line

Cadillac has issued a product safety recall on 2021 model year XT5 and XT6 crossovers that involves the possibility of improperly secured fuel supply lines due to an error during the manufacturing process.

The problem: fuel supply lines in affected vehicles may not have been manufactured to the correct dimensional specification. The problem affects Cadillac XT5 and XT6 models that are equipped with the 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX).

The hazards: fuel supply lines that were manufactured outside of spec may not have been properly secured during the vehicle’s assembly due to the incorrect placement of fuel line clips. Affected instances of Cadillac XT5 and XT6 models are at risk of these fuel lines becoming loose, or in extreme cases, detachment.

The fix: a dealership technician will closely inspect the fuel lines to determine if they were affected by the manufacturing error. If necessary, afflicted fuel lines will be replaced to correct the problem. This service will be performed at no cost to Cadillac XT5 and XT6 owners.

Affected vehicles: the following vehicles with the 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX):

    • 2021 Cadillac XT5
    • 2021 Cadillac XT6

Affected components: fuel supply lines.
