Cadillac Escalade-V Will Share Styling Cues With 2024 Escalade Sport Refresh

Changes are on the horizon for the Cadillac Escalade. As Cadillac Society first reported, the luxury marque recently pulled the veil off the performance-oriented Escalade-V, giving us a first glimpse at its slightly more aggressive exterior styling when compared to non-V models. Now, Cadillac Society has learned that the refreshed 2024 Escalade Sport will borrow styling cues from the Escalade-V.

Cadillac Society has kept a close eye on the Escalade-V throughout its development, ever since we were the first to report that the model was on its way back in 2019.  In the most recent past, we heard an Escalade-V roar at wide open throttle in January 2022 as a prototype was undergoing testing, and we also spied other prototypes undergoing road tests in Michigan, including an extended-length ESV variant. More recently, we were able to get up close and personal with an Escalade-V, giving us the opportunity to hear just how menacing its exhaust is on startup and while revving.

While specifics won’t be revealed until May 11th, we do know that the Escalade-V will share the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) with the CT5-V Blackwing super sedan. Under the hood of the Blackwing, the eight-cylinder makes 669 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, and we’ve been told to expect at least 640 horsepower from the Escalade-V.

To help the powerhouse under the hood breathe, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V features more aggressive exterior styling elements to set it apart from its “regular” Escalade counterparts. Notably, this includes a redesigned front bumper, quad exhaust tips similar to the Blackwing super sedans, sporty multi-spoke wheels, and a rear diffuser.

Following the debut of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V, the luxury marque’s full-size SUV range will undergo a refresh for the 2024 model year. Sources indicate to Cadillac Society that the Escalade Sport and Sport Platinum trim levels will borrow elements from the Escalade-V, including the aggressive front bumper treatment as well as the rear diffuser. At this time, it’s not clear if the design will merely be inspired by the Escalade-V, or identical to it. That said, we do know that the changes will not make their way to non-Sport Escalade trims such as Luxury, Premium Luxury, or Premium Luxury Platinum.

It’s important to note, however, that while the 2024 Escalade Sport will look very similar to the Escalade-V, it will not feature the supercharged V8 engine. Instead, the Escalade Sport will continue to be offered with one of two existing engines: the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine (production code L86) or the turbodiesel I6 engine (production code LM2). In addition, the refreshed Escalade Sport will continue with its regular brakes and dual exhaust, as opposed to larger stopping hardware and quad exhaust on the Escalade-V.

As soon as Cadillac drops details on the Escalade-V and the 2024 Escalade refresh, we’ll bring you all the details.
