2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, CT5-V Blackwing Production Dates Revealed

Since their announcement earlier this month, we’ve known that the 2022 Cadillac Blackwing super sedans were set to begin production in the summer of 2021. Now, Cadillac Society has uncovered the exact dates that the 2022 CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will start rolling of the line.

Production of both Cadillac Blackwing sedans will begin on July 5th, 2021 at the Lansing Grand River Plant in Michigan – the only facility in the world to produce the new super sedans. It’s worth noting that this information is current as of this writing, and can change as we get closer to the start of production.

As we had previously reported here at Cadillac Society, initial reservations for the Cadillac Blackwing models sold within 24 hours after going online, with 250 units being reserved for each model for a total of 500. Each reservation required a $1,000 deposit, and included several goodies, including the first vehicle serial numbers, a certificate of authenticity, and a session as the Cadillac V-Performance Academy in Nevada.

Those not intricately familiar with the new Cadillac Blackwing models should know that the CT4-V Blackwing features a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4) rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.

The larger CT5-V Blackwing is powered by the supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4) rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.

Both models come standard with a six-speed manual transmission. A ten-speed automatic offered as an option. No matter the transmission, rear-wheel-drive is the only drivetrain choice, as all-wheel-drive will not be available on either model.
