All-New 2021 Cadillac Escalade Transacting Well Above $100,000

Cadillac sales increased 6 percent to 42,909 units during the fourth quarter of 2020, and the range-topping Escalade accounted for a solid 9,454 units. A possible even more interesting statistic is that a not-so-insignificant 43 percent of buyers who took home the all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade during the fourth quarter of 2020 spent over $100,000.

It’s worth noting at this point that the 43 percent figure is not of the 9,454 Escalade sales, since that number also includes sales of the last-gen model.

2021 Escalade RWD 2021 Escalade 4WD 2021 Escalade ESV RWD 2021 Escalade ESV 4WD
Luxury $77,490 $80,490 $80,490 $83,490
Premium Luxury $84,290 $87,290 $87,290 $90,290
Sport $86,890 $89,890 $89,890 $92,890
Premium Luxury Platinum $101,290 $104,290 $104,290 $107,290
Sport Platinum $101,290 $104,290 $104,290 $107,290

The table above shows base MSRP for all Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV models including destination charge but not tax, title, license or dealer fees. Yet even without taking the additional costs into account, it’s clear that any Escalade in the range-topping Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum trim levels will easily transact above $100,000.

At the other end of the scale, we couldn’t configure an entry-level Escalade Luxury RWD to reach $100,000, even with considerable effort and a can-do attitude. But it would certainly be possible with the Premium Luxury or Sport models.

With this in mind, it’s not difficult to believe that 43 percent figure, which is likely to rise when Cadillac reports its numbers and stats for Q1 2021. That’s because the outgoing 2020 model year Cadillac Escalade had an incentive offering $9,500 off MSRP for the whole of December, and up to January 4th. No such incentive has so far been offered for 2021 model year Escalades.

The principal markets for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade are the U.S. and Canada, but sales have already started in Mexico, and as previously reported the all-new luxury SUV will also be available in China, Japan and the Middle East. In addition, there are rumors that it could be available in Australia, possibly after local conversion to right-hand-drive by General Motors Specialty Vehicles.
