Cadillac V-Series Blackwing Models Will Be Revealed February 1: Exclusive

The upcoming Cadillac V-Series Blackwing models – the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing – will be revealed on Monday, February 1st, 2021, Cadillac Society has learned from sources familiar with the matter.

Both of the V-Series Blackwing models will represent the performance flagships of their respective ranges.

The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.6L V6 engine, similar to the unit used in the now-discontinued Cadillac ATS-V (production code LF4), which produced 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be powered by an engine similar to the supercharged 6.2L V8 that equipped the Cadillac CTS-V (production code LT4), which produced 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque.

Both models will offer RWD and a standard six-speed manual transmission provided by Tremec, while a 10-speed automatic transmission will be optional. The two V-Series Blackwing cars will also feature magnesium wheels and will be the first Cadillac models to use functional 3D-printed parts, while the CT5-V Blackwing will be available with carbon fiber seats that include heating and ventilation functions. As hinted by the easter egg found on the steering wheel revealed by Cadillac last fall, the CT5-V Blackwing is expected to reach a top speed of more than 200 mph.

U.S. sales are expected to commence in mid-2021 calendar year as 2022 models, though availability will be highly limited. It’s currently unclear exactly how many V-Series Blackwing units Cadillac plans to build, or in which markets the car will be introduced outside of North America. We recently reported that they won’t be offered in China or in Australia.
