Hi Amanda; Jeff from Pittsburgh. It is now official for you, they will build your 2021. Your dealer should receive it within 6-8 weeks from the date it officially gets built. Keep checking as it will move from “it was accepted” for the build to “your vehicle has been built”. Once you get that notice, you will be driving that new escalade in about 6-8 weeks. Happy for you Amanda!

Greetings; Jeff from Pittsburgh. I ordered mine in February and on August 16th it was converted to a 2022. The 2022’s go into production on October 6th. Considering everything, unless your’s has officially been accepted as a build, it won’t happen. The key thing is to make sure your dealer has officially placed the order for the 2022 as this does not happen automatically by Cadillac. For sure, many have been frustrated by all of this. But, if you have been following the reviews for the 2021’s, I think Cadillac needed some time to work through some initial concerns. A 2022 might be the best way to go.

Hello Steven; Jeff from Pittsburgh. Most likely this is already standard on your order. But your dealer will know for sure. Good luck.

Good morning Creeduser44; Jeff back from Pittsburgh. From what I have been told and also from what I have read; the 2022’s go into production on October 4th. Now, having said this, I have been frustrated with miss-information from Cadillac over the last 30 weeks, so I can only hope this remains true. One day we will finally be able to say; I got mine! Good luck to you going forward.

Hi Amanda; sooner or later we will get good news. I have heard that the 2022’s will go into production on October 4th. For me, my neighbor owns several dealerships; including Cadillac and he knows that I will not go elsewhere. All of this is really frustrating for both dealers and customers like us. I would suggest making sure your 2022 has officially been ordered just to get on the list. Super cruise is now standard on the 2022’s; premium luxury and above. Anyway, hang in there and let’s see what happens. I know 2022 is going to be another difficult year for Cadillac in regard to meeting production demands as the factory in Texas is also building the Tahoe and Yukon; also in high demand. But, I am pretty confident that if you get in early on the order list it will get built and delivered sometime in the spring of 2022; say March. At least that is what I am being told. Take care and all the best……

Thanks for the comment Creeduser44. To be honest, after following this blog for the last 32 weeks and reading about some of the issues associated with the 2021, I think waiting for the 2022 makes sense. Further, my dealer (also my neighbor) has advised that the 2022’s will have additional safety features. Having said this, I truly hope that I am not sitting here in June 2022 saying waiting was a mistake. Good luck on your end.

Hi again Amanda; Jeff from Pittsburgh. Not sure how matters have worked out on your end, but I just got some news. As I mentioned, I ordered my premium luxury in early February and after +32 weeks of broken promises and excuses associated with the computer chips, I finally decided to place a new order for a 2022; which became available on August 16th. So, on August 18th my dealer calls and says that if I am willing to add super cruise, Cadillac has agreed to build my 2021. I think Cadillac has the computer chips but is using them as an excuse to off-set demand. To be honest, I am not sure if I will take the 2021 as this whole process has been very frustrating. By the time it arrives, the 2022’s will already be in production. I hope matters for you have worked out well.

Jeff from Pittsburgh and also very frustrated with Cadillac right now. Ordered my premium luxury in early February and after +32 weeks of broken promises and excuses associated with the computer chips, I finally decided to place a new order for a 2022; which became available on August 16th. So, on August 18th my dealer calls and says that if I am willing to add super cruise, Cadillac will build my 2021. By the time it arrives the 2022’s will already be in production. Good luck to everyone else.

The 2022’s will be put into production very soon, so you should truly be in a good position to get it. I decided to place an order for a 2022 as I just gave up on my 2021; which I did on August 17th. I truly think you will get yours within the next 5-6 weeks. Good luck and for sure, you are fortunate to get this far as the process has been frustrating to say the least.

Hello; Jeff from Pittsburgh. From everything I have been reading and hearing from my dealer, once your order has been built, you can assume 4-5 weeks before you will receive it at your dealer. 8-10 months makes no sense, but for the sake of offering every time I speak with the Cadillac advisors I get conflicting information. I ordered mine in February and was told 12 weeks, but not just passed week 30. I hope it works out for you and good luck!

Hi again Amanda. To be honest, I have gotten conflicting comments about either keeping my 2021 in place as some dealers advised it does not automatically move to the 2022 model and some dealers said it does. In the end, I placed a brand new order yesterday for the 2022 as I was told my 2021 would not get built. I decided to do this as the majority of the dealers advised that unless Cadillac has officially accepted it into their system, it will not automatically move to the 2022 model. Mine was never officially accepted by Cadillac, thus I placed a brand new order. If your order has not officially been accepted by Cadillac, you most likely should consider a new order for the 2022. But for sure, make this decision sooner than later just to get back in the loop. Your dealer can tell you if Cadillac has accepted it or you can just ask your dealer for the order number and then you can go on line with Cadillac and find out. Like you said, one day it will happen for both of us – good luck!

Hello Amanda; hope all is well on your end. To be honest, I just learned all of this yesterday and all I know is that my dealer confirmed that the 2021 was not going to happen and that he was able to officially ordered the 2022. As I will be entering into the order process very early for the 2022’s, he now feels Cadillac will accept it and it will get built. I really don’t know anything beyond this, but accordingly to my dealer once they move into producing the 2022’s, he will be able to give me a good update as to when mine would be produced. I will keep you posted and good luck. I hope it works out for you. Take care!

Hello everyone; Jeff from Pittsburgh. Well, after 28 weeks I have now officially been told that my 2021 Escalade will not get built. As of yesterday, my order for a 2022 has been formally confirmed. For 2022, I learned that super cruise is now standard on the premium luxury and levels above. Thanks.

Jeff again from Pittsburgh. Well, according to Cadillac my only chance for a 2021 is to reduce my build and accept lower features. Although I will not do this, I must admit that it is a shame that Cadillac received my order 22 weeks ago and only this week is officially saying; we will not accept it. I am frustrated, my dealer is frustrated and it seems like this situation with the computer chips is a disaster for the auto industry. According to my dealer, there are 2 more Escalades builds coming up and perhaps there remains a chance for me. Otherwise, I will wait for a 2022. I wish everyone better luck and success than I experienced. But, I will still hold on and one day I will be able to say; I love that damn SUV!

Hi Amanda; Jeff again from Pittsburgh. I wish I was in your shoes as you now have the potential to take delivery of that dream car. For me, my first Escalade had the retractable steps and eventually I had to replace their motors due to failure; expensive! So, my 2nd Escalade (current one) had the fixed steps and to be honest I like them just as much as they still look really good. If it was me, this seems like a small compromise to get that dream car; I would say yes for sure. For me, my frustrations with Cadillac continue as I am now approaching week 22 since my order was placed and still no idea what is going to happen. Amanda; enjoy the ride in that dream car!
