We previously reported on Cadillac’s confirmed intent to sell vehicles in Brazil. And now, it looks like the luxury marque is set to make an official announcement the day before it makes its F1 debut in the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, which is scheduled for March 6th through the 8th.
According to an invitation sent to local media in Brazil, Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, will host a special presentation event on March 5th. Specifically, the invitation states: “The wait is over. The event that will inaugurate an iconic journey in Brazil is coming soon.”
When the company says it intends to “inaugurate an iconic journey in Brazil,” we’re quite certain it’s referring to Cadillac’s presence in South America’s largest country. Any doubts are easily assuaged by notable details of the invitation, including its deep blue background and font, as well as its intentional use of one word in particular: iconic. Hence, we fully expect the luxury marque to highlight the models that it intends to sell in the Brazilian market in a manner that builds on the excitement of its F1 debut.
As we’ve mentioned before, Cadillac has already made efforts to strengthen enthusiasm for the brand in Brazil through motorsports. Contributing to the cause is the Cadillac Racing V-Series.R hyper car, which placed first and second during the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo last year, earning redemption after a disappointing performance in 2024.
Cadillac has yet to confirm which vehicles it plans to sell in Brazil, but it will most likely follow the same strategy it’s implemented in other international markets where it doesn’t have a manufacturing footprint, such as Europe. If that is, in fact, the case, prospective buyers can look forward to a fully-electric portfolio, including the Optiq and Lyriq.
And given the high-octane nature of the announcement, we imagine folks are hoping to hear about performance-oriented offerings. While it’s unlikely that a Blackwing (or any ICE-powered model) will hit the Brazilian market, there’s a good chance that the Optiq-V and Lyriq-V will be offered.
Only 26 units of the 685-horsepower sedan will be built.

Getting an allocation, however, may be the tricky part.
