The Cadillac Society Take

The setback experienced by Cadillac in Canada during the third quarter of the year puts an end to the luxury marque’s remarkable growth trajectory spanning four consecutive quarters in the market. This growth was the result of healthy demand for new vehicles as well as a favorable mix of inventory and dealer performance. As such, the Q3 drop interrupts Cadillac’s growth in Canada while showing a weakening in the competitiveness of its model portfolio.

Key models suffered significant declines in sales volumes, including the best-selling Cadillac XT4, XT5 and the (regular-length_ Escalade. Among these, the one that saw the most significant drop was the Cadillac XT5, recording a significant volume decrease of 408 units on an annual basis.

The only model that managed to be in the green during Q3 was the Cadillac Escalade ESV, which saw a slight, single-digit increase that could barely add three units compared to the same timeframe last year.

For its part, the new Cadillac Lyriq recorded its highest quarterly record to date in the Canadian market, seeing a notable volume of 317 deliveries, almost double the 167 units delivered during the second quarter.
