Leaked New Photos Show Second-Gen Cadillac CT6 Undisguised

A few months back, Cadillac Society caught wind of exclusive details regarding the next gen Cadillac CT6. We then spotted a few prototypes undergoing testing. Now, photos of an undisguised second-generation CT6 have been leaked from inside the Jinquiao Cadillac China plant where the luxury sedan will be built.

The photos were posted anonymously via Chinese social media platforms, depicting the luxury sedan in various stages of assembly. One photo shows off what appears to be the body-in-white, confirming that it will have a large set of grille openings and redesigned headlights that integrate both vertical and horizontal lighting elements. This image makes it easy to draw comparisons between the CT6 front end and that of the Cadillac Lyriq.

Another set of images show off the Cadillac CT6’s cockpit, which features a large, curved LED screen that spans from the instrument panel to the infotainment screen, combining them into one interface, much like what’s seen inside the Lyriq. Interestingly, the luxury sedan does not appear to have a gear selector. At this time, it’s not clear how drivers will select gears, but it’s entirely possible that a pushbutton system could be implemented.

Interestingly, one of the images shows a piece of paper inscribed with the program code “O1SL.” This code indicates that the second-generation Cadillac CT6 is underpinned by the Omega platform like the first-generation CT6, not the VSS-R platform. Therefore, some may assume that the forthcoming CT6 is just a heavy refresh of the luxury sedan. However, the luxury marque is also overhauling quite a few components under the skin, including the electrical architecture and powertrain.

The CT6 luxury sedan will debut soon and will go on sale in China in early 2023. At this time, we know of no plans to offer the CT6 outside of China.
