As the global microchip shortage eases for the better, heated and ventilated seats are returning to vehicles in Cadillac’s lineup, including the 2022 Cadillac XT4.

As of  May 1st production, all units of the XT4 luxury crossover that would normally be produced with heated and ventilated seats are rolling off the assembly line with the features once again. The comfort features were previously constrained as of March 14th production, as Cadillac elected to withhold them due to a lack of microchips needed to include them.

Under normal circumstances, heated front seats (production code KA1) are exclusively included as part of the Cold Weather Package (production code Y19) available for all three XT4 trim levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport. Heated outboard rear seats are also exclusive to the Cold Weather Package across all available trim levels.

Meanwhile, ventilated seats are included as part of the Comfort and Convenience Package (production code WPC), or the Comfort Package (production code Y55) offered on the XT4 Premium Luxury or Sport trim levels. The aforementioned packages, and ventilated seats, are not offered on the base Luxury trim.

Despite the return of the heated and ventilated seats to the 2022 Cadillac XT4, it should be noted that several features requiring microchip are still currently under constraint with no word on when they could become available again. Specifically, the XT4 is still being built without ventilated seat cushion blower motors, Rear Park Assist, Front and Rear park assist, along with Reverse Automatic Braking

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 is also currently unavailable to order with the Onyx exterior accent package due to an unknown supplier issue. However, a substitute known as the Onyx Lite Package, which lacks certain features, is available.

As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 features the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Production takes place at the Cadillac Fairfax Plant in Kansas.
