2022 Cadillac XT4 Onyx Package Unavailable To Order

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 is currently unavailable to order with the Onyx Package equipped, Cadillac Society has learned. 

The Onyx Package for the 2022 Cadillac XT4 (production code PDB) adds a handful of dark exterior accents to the small luxury crossover. When it’s available, the package can be equipped on all XT4 trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport, adding an extra $2,695 to the vehicle’s overall price. 

The Cadillac XT4 Onyx package includes the following content (relevant production codes in parentheses): 

• • Black surround grille with Black mesh (RZ9)
  • 20-inch Gloss Black Wheels (SKW) 
  • Monochrome Cadillac emblems (SFZ)

At this time, it’s not clear why the Onyx Package for the 2022 Cadillac XT4 is currently unavailable, or when it will again become available.

The Onyx Package isn’t the only feature to be withheld from the XT4 at this time. As Cadillac Society recently reported, the luxury crossover is also not available to order with all-weather floor mats until further notice. Additionally, the heated steering wheel is constrained, as are heated and ventilated seats. Cadillac indicated that it may be able to retrofit the latter features at a later time, possibly as soon as mid-2022 as the microchip shortage situation evolves.

As a reminder, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 features one drivetrain option in North America – the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It bolts to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Production takes place at the Cadillac Fairfax Plant in Kansas.

Finally, it’s worth noting that the Onyx Package was also temporarily unavailable to order on the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. However, the constraints on the package were recently lifted on the Escalade, and it can now be equipped on the full-size luxury SUV after roughly a month-long hiatus. At this time, it’s not clear if the lack of Onyx Package availability with the XT4 will progress in a similar manner.
