Driving at night isn’t always easy, but the Cadillac Blackwing super sedans feature a dark cockpit mode to help decrease eye strain.
Both the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing feature a dark cockpit mode, which can be activated by scrolling the cabin dimmer dial all the way down. Doing so will alter the instrument panel’s theme and disable all unnecessary lights inside the cabin, aside from a handful that are crucial for night driving. With the lights inside the cabin dimmed or turned off completely, driver eye strain is reduced, and whoever is behind the wheel of the ultra-high-performance sedan can focus on getting through the nighttime environment.
There’s quite a difference between the normal cockpit lighting theme and dark mode, as evidenced by the video and photographs below. Note the regular bright “backlighting” in the instrument cluster is completely eliminated in dark mode. The theme of the 12-inch digital diagonal instrument cluster display is also simplified and relays important information in as minimalistic a way as possible.

It should be noted that one of the corporate cousins to the Cadillac Blackwing super sedans, the Chevrolet Corvette C8, also features a similar dark cockpit mode for night driving.
As a reminder, 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing harnesses the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 (production code LF4), rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing boasts the supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4), rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful Cadillac to ever be produced. The engines in both super sedans feature a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 10-speed automatic. Both transmissions deliver power exclusively to the rear wheels.
