Cadillac Financial To Launch Brand-Specific Finance Arm In 2022

Cadillac will launch Cadillac Financial, a financing brand exclusive to the luxury marque, in mid-2022.

According to a report by Automotive News, an internal memo from GM Financial president of North America Operations, Kyle Birch, Cadillac Financial will offer a broad range of services, including a concierge, a new website, and Cadillac-branded customer experience teams.

Cadillac Financial will be an offshoot of parent company GM Financial and will aim to deliver a more personalized experience for its customers, setting the luxury marque apart from the rest of its parent firm. A tailor-made customer experience should provide an advantage for Cadillac Financial and help smooth the way as the luxury marque transitions to a fully-electric vehicle lineup by 2030. To that end, streamlining the buying, leasing and ownership experiences will be critical as Cadillac surges forward into its all-electric future.

Automotive News notes that a majority of other automakers already have individual financial arms dedicated to their respective luxury brands. For example, Toyota Financial Services has Lexus Financial Services, while Lincoln Financial Services is a subset of Ford Motor Credit.

It makes sense, then, that Cadillac parent, General Motors Company, would want to split out Cadillac Financial from its other vehicle divisions. The move will not only keep GM and Cadillac caught up with the competition, but will enable the customer experience expected of the luxury marque.

Cadillac’s first foray into the world of EVs comes in the form of the highly-anticipated Cadillac Lyriq. Pre-orders for the Lyriq Debut Edition sold out in minutes. Details continue to trickle in about the luxury marque’s future flagship sedan EV, the Cadillac Celestiq, which will feature a glass roof with cutting-edge SPD-SmartGlass technology and a starting price tag of around $200,000.
