Check Out The Cadillac F1 Special Edition Livery For Barcelona Shakedown

Feast your eyes upon the Cadillac F1 Team’s special edition livery for the Barcelona Shakedown, which is scheduled for January 26th through January 30th. Cadillac revealed the livery at the Hudson’s Detroit building, which is the new HQ for the luxury marque’s parent company, General Motors.

Fans who wish to see the display in person can do so at the Detroit Auto Show thru January 25th. Notably, the testing livery is intended to express brand identity while still masking the finer details of the soon-to-be revealed race car. The Cadillac Formula One Team is expected to pull the cover off of the final livery shortly after Shakedown Week on February 8th, during Super Bowl LX.

“Our new testing livery celebrates Detroit’s design heritage and the power of the global Cadillac Formula 1 team, while keeping our design secrets under wraps,” said Mark Reuss, who serves as president of Cadillac’s parent, General Motors. “The Barcelona test is just the beginning… we can’t wait to share our official race livery with fans around the world next month.”

The livery, which features the names of Cadillac F1 Team members who worked to make this race car a reality, was birthed by a cross-continental collaboration between the General Motors Global Design team and the Cadillac Formula 1 Team from both the U.S. and the UK.

“Cadillac Formula 1 is committed to innovation on and off the track,” added Dan Towriss, CEO of Cadillac Formula 1 Team Holdings. “TWG combined with General Motors allows us to rethink the norm and introduce the team in bold new ways. Debuting our race livery during a globally televised championship broadcast challenges convention and brings Cadillac Formula 1 to a global audience. Paired with this special-edition testing livery designed by the GM Global Design studios, we’re honoring automotive heritage while looking ahead as we build toward the 2026 season.”

Speaking of testing, the Cadillac F1 Team recently added Zhou Guanyu to its roster as a reserve driver. Just prior to that, the team named IndyCar racer Colton Herta as its first test driver. As a reminder, test drivers can also fill the space of reserve drivers in addition to test driving and assisting in the development and tuning of competition vehicles.
