2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing: First Real-World Photos

Cadillac Society is happy to bring you the very first images of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing ultra-high-performance luxury sedan in the real world.

The example shown here is painted Raven Black and has black alloy wheels. These provide a nearly monochrome appearance, relived only by the taillights, front fender reflectors/lights, Cadillac emblem, red brake calipers and metallic brake rotors.

The shine on the rotors suggests that this car has not been fitted with the Brembo carbon-ceramic brake package offered as an option for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, but the standard Brembo set-up. Likewise, the wheels are clearly not the optional magnesium units, which are bronze in color.

The appearance is quite sinister, though the car has clearly picked up a lot of road dirt and salt, especially at the rear, making the black parts several shades lighter than they ought to be.

However, only a small amount of imagination is needed to picture the car after it has been thoroughly washed and detailed, which would certainly bring back its ominous appearance.

None of this appears to be affecting the enjoyment of the driver in the white van near the CT5-V Blackwing, or the black pickup on the other side of the road. Even when dirty, this is a car that attracts attention.

The van driver may also have been pleased by the sound of the car’s supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) which is rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, and drives the rear wheels (not all four, for reasons Cadillac has explained) through a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox or an optional 10-speed automatic. The car’s 0-60 mph time is rated at 3.7 seconds, and its top speed is around 200 mph.

Pricing starts at $84,990, but it is possible to make the car cost $121,895 by specifying all the available options.

250 examples of the CT5-V Blackwing became available for reservation on February 1st of this year, in return for a $1,000 deposit. All of them were accounted for just three minutes after the offer went live.
