Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Pre-Orders Sold Out In Three Minutes

Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Pre-Orders Sold Out In Three Minutes

The new Cadillac Blackwing sedans are hugely desirable machines, combining sumptuous luxury with a long list of high-performance specs. As it turns out, the desirability of the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing was demonstrated in dramatic fashion as soon as order books opened, with pre-orders selling out in just three minutes.

The time it took for Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing pre-orders to sell out was revealed during a recent conference call with the GM Canada communications team. As Cadillac Society covered previously, pre-orders for the new CT5-V Blackwing became available on February 1st immediately following the sedan’s debut. However, buyers interested in putting the super sedan in their garage had to be quick, as the first 250 pre-orders sold out in just three minutes.

Cadillac limited pre-orders for the new Blackwing sedans to only 500 units total, including 250 units for the CT5-V Blackwing, and 250 units for the CT4-V Blackwing. By comparison, pre-orders for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing sold out within 21 hours.

Each of the Cadillac Blackwing reservations required a $1,000 deposit, and included one of the first serial numbers, a certificate of authenticity, and a session at the Cadillac V-Series Academy driving school at the Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada.

Interested customers unable to snag one of the initial 500 Cadillac Blackwing pre-orders are offered a chance to be placed on a waitlist and be contacted by a local dealer when their vehicle of choice becomes available. The exact production figures for both the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing have yet to be released.

The initial units of the Blackwing sedans will begin rolling off the production line later this summer.

  1. Back in the day, if you bought or leased a CTS-V or an ATS-V, it came with the Spring Mountain deal. Is Cadillac in such poor shape that they can’t afford to do that any more?

    • The deal for Spring Mountain is ongoing throughout the Blackwing’s lifecycle. It does not apply for preorders of 250 units only. Would not make sense to eliminate it.
