The Cadillac Society Take
The decrease in Cadillac Mexico sales volume represents the marque’s 12th consecutive contraction in the market. The result deepens Cadillac’s negative sales performance in Mexico, where it has not only been affected by a steady decline in demand for new vehicles, but also by a limited model portfolio and a lack of assertive marketing.
During October, each Cadillac model offered in Mexico posted negative figures, including the Cadillac XT4 which is typically the brand’s best-selling product that registered a healthy recovery in August. However, it should be noted that October 2019 was Cadillac’s second-best month of the entire previous calendar year in terms of sales volume. The scenario exaggerates the year-over-year decline in Cadillac Mexico sales for October. In fact, the XT5 and Escalade saw notable recoveries in sales volume over the past few months, compared to the volumes they had averaged 8-12 units.
