Cadillac filed to trademark the Optiq name for a future electric vehicle in late 2021. Photos of the luxury electric crossover were leaked in China in mid-2023, all but confirming its existence and impending release, later confirmed by a series of official photos released in November 2023.
Interestingly, despite being positioned beneath the Lyriq, the Cadillac Optiq is actually longer than the Cadillac XT5 in terms of exterior dimensions. It also features two rear spoilers and lacks a rear wiper, which is not necessary, considering the slope of the rear window, which allows air to flow across it and prevents water from accumulating in rainy conditions.
The Cadillac Optiq rides on the BEV3 platform, just like the Lyriq, Cadillac Vistiq, and Cadillac Celestiq. Details regarding its powertrain figures and other performance information have yet to be released.
