After a streak of five consecutive quarters of growth, Cadillac sales suffered their first contraction in nearly a year and a half during the fourth quarter of 2025. The drop interrupts the luxury marque’s growth and sets a discouraging precedent for its next-generation battery electric product line, which had had been driving this growth.
The decline in Cadillac sales during Q4 was driven by expected drops in volume stemming from the discontinued Cadillac XT4, as well as a reduction in sales of the brand’s battery electric crossover portfolio, which suffered a massive volume contraction due to the cessation of U.S. federal tax credits for BEVs. Among these, the Cadillac Lyriq was hit the hardest, as sales were halved by 3,739 units year-over-year. Additionally, the Cadillac Optiq lost the momentum it had built up in previous quarters.
Meanwhile, the internal combustion-powered Cadillac Escalade continued its strong sales performance with a healthy five percent increase. The iconic full-size luxury SUV continued to be the best-selling model for Cadillac and within its segment. Similarly, the Escalade IQ saw sales grow to over 2,000 units during the quarter, achieving the luxury marque’s highest growth. The Cadillac CT4 and CT5 sedan lineup also performed well during the quarter with healthy double-digit increases.
Only 26 units of the 685-horsepower sedan will be built.
U.S. production of the crossover ended in January of 2025.
Getting an allocation, however, may be the tricky part.
