The Cadillac Society Take
After a streak of five consecutive quarters of growth, Cadillac sales suffered their first contraction in nearly a year and a half during the fourth quarter of 2025. The drop interrupts the luxury marque’s growth and sets a discouraging precedent for its next-generation battery electric product line, which had had been driving this growth.

The decline in Cadillac sales during Q4 was driven by expected drops in volume stemming from the discontinued Cadillac XT4, as well as a reduction in sales of the brand’s battery electric crossover portfolio, which suffered a massive volume contraction due to the cessation of U.S. federal tax credits for BEVs. Among these, the Cadillac Lyriq was hit the hardest, as sales were halved by 3,739 units year-over-year. Additionally, the Cadillac Optiq lost the momentum it had built up in previous quarters.

Meanwhile, the internal combustion-powered Cadillac Escalade continued its strong sales performance with a healthy five percent increase. The iconic full-size luxury SUV continued to be the best-selling model for Cadillac and within its segment. Similarly, the Escalade IQ saw sales grow to over 2,000 units during the quarter, achieving the luxury marque’s highest growth. The Cadillac CT4 and CT5 sedan lineup also performed well during the quarter with healthy double-digit increases.

It really is not difficult to figure this out…Cadillac doesn’t promote anything but EVs. Not everybody wants an electric car. I drive an XT6, recently someone stopped me in a parking lot and said, “that’s beautiful car. What is it? The same thing happened when we had our CT6. Cadillac builds great cars, but they do a terrible job of promoting them. Advertising works! Note to Cadillac Management, spend some money on advertising and your products will sell.

They need to add ICE options to the VISTIQ and OPTIQ, etc! We don’t want EVs! Can’t road trip in them at all. The XT4 needs 300 HP to separate it from the Envision. The XT5 design from China needs to be brought here. The XTS, CT6 need to come back. There’s only a few GM vehicles that have a household name. There should’ve been no reason to change the XT6 name to the VISTIQ….

Maybe some of you should drive an electric Cadillac before you judge it…powerful and beautiful…and it is nice that I can pull into my garage everyday and fill it up. The only criticism I have is that there is NO variety with colors…everything today is silver, black, or white…there is a bland world in the auto market…the price of cars make many models out of reach…also, the accessories you may want for your car…touch up paint…a little tube $36…my plastic liriq decal at rear of car had to be replaced…$115. My opinion…make some models for all buyers…some with little options to ones for those who can splurge. You leave a lot of buyers out when everything you make costs over $50,000.

Duh!!! I say the same thing Build what Consumers WANT, not what Mary Barra (DEO) has No Clue, it is all about Profits and Lining her $23,000,000,00 Salary!!! Huh.

I guess a lot of you haven’t driven an electric car…I wouldn’t trade it for anything…the power and beauty of my Liriq is outstanding…the problem we now have is a government which doesn’t believe in preserving our environment…so let’s get rid of all incentives that help consumers.
Steve
The Problem with Cadillac is simply, Mary Barra (CEO), trying to “Boost” the Investors GM Stock Price and pay Dividends
