2026 Cadillac Optiq-V Arrives With Mighty Performance And Modest Price Tag

The performance-enhanced 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V is finally here. And it doesn’t merely add to the luxury marque’s V-Series lineup, it pushes the needle forward.

For starters, the Optiq-V is the first-ever V-series compact crossover. In that regard, it’s pretty much the XT4-V we never had. It also generates nearly the same amount of torque as a CT5-V Blackwing while having a price tag that’s only a smidge more than the base MSRP of a CT4-V Blackwing. If we look back even further, we see that the Optiq-V is quicker than the third-gen CTS-V and costs the same as an ATS-V Coupe (or less if you adjust for inflation). Now that’s progress.

The dual-motor powertrain propelling the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V puts out 519 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque – that’s 35 less than the supercharged small block V8 powering the aforementioned CT5-V Blackwing. For reference, Cadillac says the Optiq-V can sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds. When equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission, the CT4-V Blackwing takes 3.8 seconds and the CT5-V Blackwing takes 3.4 seconds, according to the automaker.

Of course, there’s more to a performance vehicle than gobs of power and straight-line speed. To that end, Cadillac says it “prioritized precision, a dynamic suspension, and tight steering.”

“The V-Series was a natural continuation with the Optiq’s architecture,” said John Cockburn, Optiq-V chief engineer. “With Cadillac’s signature isolated precision ride and handling characteristic, tighter steering, enhanced suspension, and summer-only tires [all-seasons are standard, summer tires are optional], our team delivered a unique package that makes Optiq-V a fun, nimble drive that’s quicker when cornering.”

Performance features include Brembo front brake calipers, the “enhanced” suspension mentioned by Cockburn, launch control, Competitive Mode, and a customizable V-Mode. Sharp 21-inch wheels are standard, though the exterior aesthetic can be elevated with a sports-inspired appearance package. Interior highlights include a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, a 33-inch display, and Super Cruise.

In addition to being the luxury marque’s first V-series compact crossover, it’s also the first Cadillac to feature a native NACS port, which will allow for easy charging without the need for an adapter at Tesla Supercharger, IONNA, and EVgo charging stations. With an estimated range of 275 miles per charge, the ability to charge at any available station will surely make the Optiq-V easier to live with.

“Integrating the native NACS port into our vehicle architecture is an important step forward, reflecting our leadership in engineering and our commitment to providing our customers with more charging options,” said Cockburn.

Production of the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V for the North American market is slated to begin in Q3 at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. In addition to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the Optiq-V will also be sold in the Middle East and Israel.

Pricing for the U.S. is set at $68,795, including the destination charge. It appears that there’s only one Optiq-V trim level, unlike the Lyriq-V, which offers the V-Series and V-Series Premium trims. Deliveries of the latter – which boasts an even quicker 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds and loftier starting price of $80,090 – are already officially underway.
