Cadillac Escalade IQL Sport Spied Undisguised: Photos

Cadillac Society recently spotted the Cadillac Escalade IQL in Luxury trim completely uncovered, giving us our first glimpse of the forthcoming electric luxury SUV’s figure without anything obscuring its body. Now, we’ve spotted another near-production-ready example undergoing testing, with a few key differences that indicate this model belongs to the Sport trim.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade IQL has yet to be announced, but we already know that it will be the roomier version of the all-electric Escalade IQ as an alternative for customers who need more interior space than the standard-length model. However, the Escalade IQL will not have a longer wheelbase compared to the Escalade IQ. Instead, it will gain extra space from a more upright rear end and roofline, enabled by a revamping of the space between the C- and D-pillars, along with a possibly longer rear overhang.

This particular Cadillac Escalade IQL Sport features blacked-out daylight opening  (DLO) trim, a stark deviation from the bright chrome trim we saw on the Escalade IQL Luxury mentioned earlier. Note that the area between the C- and D-pillars is certainly different from the same on the regular IQ, giving the vehicle a longer appearance than the “regular” Escalade IQ. At the rear, the Escalade IQL features a more upright positioning for its rear glass and vertical taillamp assemblies.

This Escalade IQL also features production ready badging, including 1000E4 script, which denotes a dual-motor, all-electric drivetrain that offers all-wheel-drive and 1,064 Nm of torque with the Velocity Max mode activated. That’s roughly equivalent to 785 pound-feet of torque (along with 750 horsepower). The powertrain has already been announced for the regular-length Escalade IQ.

The “non-L” Escalade IQ rides on the BT1 platform and production will take place at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, now known as Factory Zero. Pricing for the electric luxury SUV starts at $130,000.

As of this writing, the Escalade IQL has not yet been announced by Cadillac.
