2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ To Flaunt 1000E4 Badge

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ made its official debut in August 2023, reimagining the luxury marque’s best-selling and most recognizable nameplate as a full-size electric luxury SUV. Cadillac Society has recently learned that the Escalade IQ will wear a 1000E4 badge on its liftgate to represent its dual-motor drivetrain.

Decoding “1000E4” is quite simple. As outlined by the luxury marque’s torque-based nomenclature, the “1000” figure corresponds to maximum system torque rounded to the nearest whole Newton-meters. The Escalade IQ is capable of a maximum 1,064 Nm of torque with the Velocity Max mode activated, which is equivalent to 785 pound-feet of torque (along with 750 horsepower). Meanwhile, the “E” suffix represents the all-electric drivetrain while the “4” represents all-wheel-drive.

As the name implies, Velocity Max mode coaxes the maximum possible power out of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, enabling the full-size luxury SUV a zero to 60 mph time of just under five seconds. For driving applications where that sort of power is not necessary, the Escalade IQ can be switched to normal mode. This grants the electric luxury SUV 680 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque, or 834 Nm of torque, on to an estimated 450 miles of range on a single charge.

It’s worth noting that the 1000E4 moniker might not be the only one that will grace the Escalade IQ during its lifecycle, since it’s possible that the vehicle could be offered with less potent or more powerful powertrain.

Other mechanical highlights for the Escalade IQ include Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Adaptive Air Ride Suspension, along with Four-Wheel Steer, as previously reported by Cadillac Society. The latter reduces the model’s turning radius to 39.4 feet, allowing for greater maneuverability in tight areas such as parking spaces.

Set to be built at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is underpinned by the BT1 platform. Pricing for the full-size electric luxury SUV starts at $130,000.

  1. The Escalade IQ is a great looking SUV and 450 miles is a pretty decent range, but $130,000 is a lot of money, especially considering its the “starting” price.
