Hot off its much-anticipated refresh for the 2024 model year, the 2025 Cadillac XT4 won’t gain many major changes or updates for its forthcoming model year. However, Cadillac Society has learned that the small luxury crossover will feature a handful of standard safety features that its predecessor offered as optional extras.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2025 Cadillac XT4 will features the Active Safety Package (production code AS2) as standard, rather than as an optional add-on. This package is standard on both available trims – Premium Luxury and Sport, since the base Luxury trim was dropped after the 2024 model year.
Previously, the Active Safety Package as a $1,825 option for the 2024 XT4 Premium Luxury and Sport; it was not offered on the base Luxury trim. While the package is now standard on the 2025 XT4, its content remains the same. Features bundled in this package include (relevant production codes listed in parentheses):
The 2025 Cadillac XT4 retains the current model’s single engine option: the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional. Production of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 takes place at the Fairfax plant in Kansas.
While production of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 kicked off at the end of May 2024, inventory may become a bit scarce next year. That’s because the Cadillac Fairfax plant, which handles XT4 assembly for the North American market, will be offline for most of the 2025 calendar year as the facility gets retooled to support production of the all-electric Chevy Bolt. Once the plant reopens, XT4 production will resume, now alongside the all-new Bolt.
As a reminder, the 2025 XT4 dropped the base Luxury trim from its lineup, meaning that Premium Luxury is the new entry level model. As such, its price is expected to start at around the $45,000 mark.
