2024 Cadillac Escalade Drops Mahogany Metallic Paint

Mahogany Metallic is a rich, deep red color befitting of a luxury SUV like the Cadillac Escalade. However, the color has been discontinued after the 2023 model year, meaning that the 2024 Escalade will not offer the hue.

First introduced for the 2022 model year, Mahogany Metallic (paint code G48) was offered on every trim level of the Escalade, including Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport and Escalade-V. Priced as a $625 option, the color was avaialble with any interior colorway.

The discontinuation of Mahogany Metallic isn’t a surprise. In fact, as Cadillac Society reported earlier this year that the final order cycle to get the color on the 2023 Escalade started on August 3rd, 2023. The color itself was built out (discontinued) after the week of September 18th, 2023.

Replacing Mahogany Metallic, Black Diamond Tricoat (paint code GLK) joins the options list for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade. However, it can only be outfitted on the Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV, and is not offered on any other trim levels, including Luxury, Premium Luxury or Sport models. Suffice it to say, then, that its availability will be extremely limited, at least for the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac Escalade is offered with three engine options, starting with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code L87) rated at 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque, as standard. Joining the Escalade lineup for the 2024 model year, the new, optional turbodiesel 3.0L I6 (production code LZ0) is set to output 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

The Escalade-V, meanwhile, is powered exclusively by the supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4), which produces a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque.

Additionally, a slew of updates will land with the 2025 Cadillac Escalade as part of the model’s mid-cycle refresh. Improvements are expected to include a redesigned cockpit with a humongous pillar-to-pillar infotainment display, along with an updated front fascia. We expect the updated 2025 Escalade to be revealed in the coming weeks.
