2022 Cadillac Escalade: Here’s The New Mahogany Metallic Exterior Color

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV add three new exterior colors to their palette: Galactic Gray Metallic, Wilder Metallic, and Mahogany Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Mahogany hue.

Assigned production code G48 and touch-up paint code WA-613G, Mahogany Metallic is one of nine exterior colors offered on the full-size luxury SUV, which include:

  • Black Raven
  • Crystal White Tricoat
  • Dark Moon Blue Metallic
  • Infrared Tintcoat
  • Sandstone Metallic
  • Satin Steel Metallic
  • Galactic Gray Metallic (new for 2022)
  • Mahogany Metallic (new for 2022)
  • Wilder Metallic (new for 2022)

The Mahogany Metallic color is an extra-cost item that adds an additional $625 to the vehicle’s price. It can be combined with all six interior colorways:

  • Brandy with Very Dark Atmosphere Accents
  • Dark Auburn with Jet Black Accents
  • Jet Black
  • Parchment with Jet Black Accents
  • Whisper Beige with Gideon Accents
  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black Accents

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade represents the second model year of the all-new fifth generation Escalade, for which it received a few very minor changes. These include three new exterior colors, a new Buckle-To-Drive feature, removal of the cabin air ionizer feature as well as the removal of the NFC mobile pairing feature.

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade will continue to be offered in either the regular-length model or in the extended-length Escalade ESV, which features a wheelbase that’s 12 inches longer. The luxury SUV is offered with two engine choices: the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline motor (production code L87) rated at 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque, or the turbo-diesel 3.0L I6 (production code LM2) rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines bolt to the 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to either the vehicle’s rear axle or to all four wheels.

Per Cadillac’s Y-trim level strategy, five trim levels are on offer, including the base Luxury, followed by Premium Luxury and Premium Luxury Platinum as well as Sport and Sport Platinum.
