Cadillac Lyriq Recalled For Seat Belt Bracket Weld Issue

Certain units of the 2023 and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq have been recalled due to an issue with the rear seat belt brackets.

The problem: affected units of the Cadillac Lyriq may have improperly welded seat belt brackets in the rear seat. Specifically, the bracket that anchors the left-rear and center-rear seat belts may have been improperly welded to the seat frame.

The hazards: if the seat belt bracket is improperly welded, it may not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a crash, thereby increasing the risk of injury.

The fix: dealers will replace the rear seat cushion frame, free of charge to Cadillac Lyriq owners. In the meantime, owners are advised not to use the left-rear and center-rear seating positions until the repair is performed.

Affected components: rear seat belt bracket.

  • 2024 Cadillac Lyriq

Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac indicated that 43 units of the Lyriq may be affected by this condition.
