Hennessey Performance offers a significant upgrade for the already-powerful Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, coaxing 1,000 horsepower out of the super sedan’s supercharged engine thanks to its aptly named H1000 package. The aftermarket performance company recently took a CT5-V Blackwing with the H1000 package out on the road and track, letting the upgraded engine sing at speed.
“Driving a 1000 HP, rear-wheel drive, 6-speed manual transmission, sport sedan can only be described as euphoric,” reads the video’s description. “Climb aboard as we take you for a first-person spin in the sinister H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.”
The video reveals what the over-powered CT5-V Blackwing sounds like on startup after stopping to fuel up, showing off its throaty idle before pulling out onto public roads. However, the super sedan is allowed to stretch out and show what it can really do once the driver heads to a closed road course, throwing the CT5-V Blackwing around the tight turns under heavy throttle. It’s the straightaways, however, that prove the mettle of the ultra-high-performance luxury sedan, which screams as the accelerator is opened up with a cry that almost seems to rattle the driver’s camera.
Upgrades in the H1000 package include a high-flow supercharger, improved lifters and pushrods, enhanced intake and exhaust valves, ported cylinder heads, long-tube headers and oversized heat exchangers. It also includes a two year or 24,000-mile limited warranty, whichever comes first. Interested customers should reach out to Hennessey for more information. The tuner will begin offering the package starting this August.
Hennessey claims that the H1000 upgrade grants 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. With that much power, the CT5-V Blackwing boasts a zero to 60 mph sprint in 2.5 seconds, which makes it a full second faster than stock.
