Does This 2024 Cadillac XT4 Protype Feature Super Cruise?

Cadillac pulled the veil off the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 back in February, revealing the luxury crossover’s updated interior, exterior, and showcasing its healthy amount of tech features. However, one feature that’s notably absent from the 2024 XT4 is Super Cruise, the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous highway driver assist technology. However, we recently spied an XT4 prototype undergoing testing, and the vehicle might actually be equipped with Super Cruise.

This 2024 Cadillac XT4 features elements found on the Premium Luxury trim, such as the bright chrome grille surrounds and door handles. What makes this vehicle stand out, though, is that the driver doesn’t appear to have their hands on the steering wheel, indicating that Super Cruise is active. The telltale would be if we could see the steering wheel itself, which would have the illuminated green Super Cruise stripe across the top, but unfortunately it’s not visible from the angles that we captured this prototype.

Also of note is the large red kill switch mounted on the dash of this XT4 prototype. Kill switches such as this one are typically found on vehicles that are testing with a new components, whether electrical, powertrain, or chassis.

Additionally, all of the Caddy badges have been taped off on this prototype, which is curious given that the refreshed XT4 has already been revealed.

The refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 retains the current model’s single engine option, which is the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It mates to Cadillac’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional.
