2024 Cadillac XT4 Now Boasts More Active Safety Features

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 introduces a much-needed midcycle refresh to the small luxury crossover that features revamped styling both inside and out. The refreshed model also boasts quite a few active safety features, which we’d like to delve into now.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 will offer a new Active Safety Package (production code AS2) on Premium Luxury and Sport trims for an extra $1,825. The package will not be offered at all on the base Luxury trim.

The Active Safety Package includes the following content (relevant production codes listed in parentheses):

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
  • Automatic Speed Limit Assist (new for 2024) (ISA)
  • Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking (UGN)
  • Enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (new for 2024) (UKM)
  • HD Surround Vision (new for 2024) (UXP)
  • Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking (new for 2024) (CTB)
  • Rear Pedestrian Alert (UKK)
  • Reverse Automatic Braking (UVZ)
  • Side Bicyclist Alert (new for 2024) (UOW)
  • Traffic Sign Recognition (new for 2024) (UVX)

The Active Safety Package replaces the Driver Assist Package (production code Y66), which bundled several driver assist features for the 2023 XT4, all of which carried over to the 2024 XT4. This package, which cost $1,000 on the 2023 model, included the following content:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
  • Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking (UGN)
  • Reverse Automatic Braking (UVZ)

Meanwhile, the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous driver assistance feature, Super Cruise, is expected to make its way to the 2024 Cadillac XT4 in the near future, as it will not initially be offered.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 retains the current model’s single engine option: the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the marque’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional.

Production of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is expected to kick off in April 2023 at the Fairfax plant in Kansas.

  1. Will it be possible that Super Cruise be retrofitted to 2024 XT4 that do not have Super Cruise at intial production?
