The 2024 Cadillac Escalade will bring about a mid-cycle refresh for the full-size luxury SUV, offering quite a few changes and updates over its pre-refreshed predecessors. Previously, Cadillac Society learned that the forthcoming update will bring styling cues from the Escalade-V to the Sport trim level, having spotted a prototype being tested last year. Now, we’ve captured yet another refreshed Escalade prototype on camera, this time the extended-length Escalade ESV.
It’s difficult to see what’s beneath the heavy vinyl camo on this particular prototype, particularly when it comes to the revised front and rear fascia treatments. However, judging by the Gloss Black window and lower door trim, this is a 2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV in the Sport trim level.
Up front, the headlights are barely visible through the heavy camouflage, but the arrangement of the lighting elements suggest a pattern similar to that of the Cadillac Lyriq and refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 as the luxury marque works to create design congruence throughout its utility vehicle lineup. Much like the current, pre-refresh model, the model seen here has a set of vertical light strips running the length of the front fascia. What we can’t see are the horizontally-oriented lights above the vertical units, as they are covered by camouflage.
There aren’t any major changes to the 2024 Cadillac Escalade profile, as its front and rear door design are identical to the current pre-refresh model’s. However, the new roof antenna is clearly visible. This prototype also sports a set of brand-new 24-inch alloy wheels.
The rear of the prototype sports what appears to be vertical taillights beneath the heavy camo, but beyond that, it’s hard to tell what else is new, thanks to the vast amount of camo that obscures the crux of the Escalade’s refresh.
The “regular” 2024 Cadillac Escalade is expected to continue to offer the naturally-aspirated gasoline V8 (production code L87), which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, while a new 3.0L I6 turbodiesel (production code LZ0) will be optional, this time good for 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the high-performance Escalade-V will continue to offer the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), with 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque on tap.
Production of the 2024 Cadillac Escalade will commence in November 2023 at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
