Cadillac announced the CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition back in June 2022 as three distinct special edition models that pay homage to a different U.S. racetrack that hosts the IMSA series. Only 99 units will be produced of the three 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition models – Watkins Glen IMSA Edition, Sebring IMSA Edition, and Road Atlanta IMSA Edition, for 297 units overall.
The CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition models will be produced in sequence at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, starting with the Watkins Glen IMSA Edition, for which production took place between October and December 2022. The Sebring IMSA Edition models were assembed in January 2023, followed by the Road Atlanta IMSA Edition, produced between February and March 2023.
Each model will carry a silhouette of its respective racetrack on the rear window, along with special IMSA exterior graphics, brake caliper finishes, a shifter medallion, striping, and a builder’s plate. These super sedans will be outfitted with both the Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 packages for a race car-inspired look and a healthy amount of aerodynamic downforce.
The 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition models will not feature any performance upgrades over the “standard” CT4-V Blackwing, meaning that they retain the same twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4) rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. The boosted six is paired with a Tremec-supplied six-speed manual transmission as standard or Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic as an option extra. The super sedan rides on the luxury marque’s Alpha 2 platform.
While order books for the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Track Edition models opened on August 1st, 2022, not all CT4-V Track Edition models have been produced yet, so there still might be time to find one of these special edition models once production is complete.
