2023 Cadillac Lyriq AWD Units To Be Built Before 2024 Model Year Rollover

As recently reported by Cadillac Society, some orders of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq are being moved over to the 2024 model year as production for the 2023 model year begins to wind down. While most of Cadillac’s production efforts have been focused on the 2023  Lyriq Debut Edition – the sole and introductory trim level for the luxury electric crossover – that will change before the 2024 model year begins its roll out.

A Cadillac spokesperson recently confirmed to Cadillac Society that, in addition to 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition units, non-Debut Edition units of the Lyriq will also be built before the 2024 model year changeover. Perhaps even more importantly, this will include 2023 Lyriq units with rear-wheel-drive as well as those with all-wheel-drive.

At this time, it’s unclear how many of these non-Debut Edition Lyriq units will be assembled, although it’s worth noting that over 8,000 units of the Lyriq Debut Edition were assembled in 2022 at the Spring Hill Plant in Tennessee. Many of these received a quality hold, however, and only 122 were delivered last year. But now, that quality hold has been lifted, meaning deliveries of the Cadillac Lyriq will soon ramp up. In fact, the luxury marque plans to fulfill all 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition orders by the end of Q1 2023.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is available in two drivetrain configurations. The first is the single-motor setup that features one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.  The second is a dual-motor AWD configuration that produces 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. The 2023 Lyriq Debut Edition is offered exclusively with the RWD configuration, while non-Debut Edition models can be outfitted with either RWD or AWD.
