Cadillac V-LMDh Liveries Revealed Ahead Of 2023 Season: Video

The hybrid-electric Cadillac V-LMDh endurance racer has been in development for quite some time, and now, the luxury marque’s racing devision has revealed the three unique liveries that will decorate the all-new machines on track.

The three Cadillac V-LMDh prototype race cars each sport a different scheme in each of the three primary colors: blue, gold and red. This trio of hues represent the three dominant colors in the Cadillac V-Series “racing Mondrian” insignia.

The No. 2 V-LMDh  will take on the FIA World Endurance Championship with a blue-themed paint-out, piloted by Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Richard Westbrook. Meanwhile, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will see the gold No. 01 V-LMDh racer driven by Sebeastian Bourdais and Renger van der Zande compete alongside the red No. 31 Caddy, which will be piloted by Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims.

“Cadillac is ready to compete against the very best in North America and internationally – including one of the world’s toughest races, the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Global Vice President of Cadillac, Rory Harvey. “As Cadillac builds toward an all-electric future, the all-new V-LMDh furthers our dedication to exploring new advanced performance technologies.”

The Cadillac V-LMDh was developed by a joint effort between Cadillac Racing, Cadillac Design and Dallara. Under the hood, it sources power from the luxury marque’s all-new, race-prepared LMC55R 5.5L V8 engine, mated to a common hybrid system. This powerhouse is rated at a whopping 670 horsepower and is paired with a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

“From an aesthetic point of view, the LMDh regulations allowed us to create a vision for the car that is clearly Cadillac,” said Chris Mikalauskas, lead exterior creative designer for Cadillac. “And that’s really exciting for fans and for people who are true enthusiasts, every car is unique.”
