The 2024 Cadillac Celestiq is the luxury marque’s upcoming flagship sedan, bringing style, a wealth of customization options and high-end technologies like SPD SmartGlass to the electric vehicle scene. While customers are able to control even the smallest facet of their vehicle’s design, but there will be plenty of standard features included in each example of the Celestiq, including heated, vented and massaging seats.
During a recent interview with SAE, Cadillac Celestiq program engineering manager Jeremy Loveday provided some details regarding the ultra-luxury sedan’s interior furnishings. Most notably, all four of its seats will feature 20-way adjustability, and each will be heated, vented and cooled. Additionally, each seat has massaging functionality and a position memory feature.
“In a lot of luxury cars, you have to sit in the back seat to get the best seat in the house,” Loveday said. “We wanted all four of Celestiq’s seats to be top notch – 20-way adjustable with heat, vent, cool, massage and memory in all four places. But we recognized the challenge of getting the body structure to ‘mold’ around the battery and the occupants.”
Loveday explained that the team quickly realized that utilizing a battery pack structure similar to that of the Cadillac Lyriq just wasn’t going to cut it for the Celestiq, since it would be too tall. In order to accommodate the battery packs in the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq, the team had to build a vehicle structure using precision megacastings, which in turn allowed the height of the rear chairs to be oriented perfectly with the ultra-luxury sedan’s low profile roofline.
With a starting price tag of $300,000, the Celestiq will be hand-built at the GM Global Technical Center. As far as power goes, the 2024 Cadillac Celestiq utilizes a 111 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive propulsion system, good for 300 miles of driving range on a single charge while delivering 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.

Only 26 units of the 685-horsepower sedan will be built.
