2024 Cadillac Lyriq Pre-Orders Now Open

2024 Cadillac Lyriq Pre-Orders Now Open

Just over a month ago, order books for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq opened up, allowing interested parties to place a fully refundable $100 deposit to secure the battery electric crossover for themselves. However, those orders sold out within a day, prompting Cadillac to open up a waitlist for the Lyriq – the first battery electric vehicle in the marque’s history. Now, though, Cadillac Society has learned that the waitlist for the 2023 Lyriq will be closed, and Cadillac will convert them to the 2024 model year. The change will take place on June 22nd at noon Eastern Time.

“The amount of people on our waitlist far exceeded our expectations,” Kristin Lewis, Lyriq marketing manager, explained in a presentation attended by Cadillac Society.

In addition, those interested in the Lyriq who have not yet placed a reservation, pre-order or order for the 2023 model year will also be able to pre-order the 2024 model. All of the pre-orders will continue to carry a fully-refundable, $100 fee.

Though Cadillac has not disclosed how many pre-orders or orders it received for the Lyriq just yet, there’s plenty of demand for the vehicle. Last year, reservations for the Debut Edition models opened last year, filling up in a matter of 10 minutes. In fact, it was due to this overwhelming demand of the Debut Edition models that Cadillac elected to forgo a reservation process for the second batch of Lyriq units, and to instead open the order books.

As a reminder, the Lyriq Debut Edition features a single Ultium Drive motor situated on the rear axle for a rear-wheel-drive setup, capable of 340 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The 100.4 kW battery pack is capable of an estimated 312 miles from a full charge. The upcoming Lyriq Luxury RWD model utilizes the same driveline, while the Luxury AWD models feature a second motor on the front axle, making 524 horsepower and a driving range of 287 miles.

Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq recently began at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
