The Cadillac Society Take

The significant decline in Cadillac XT4 sales during the fourth quarter of 2021, as well as throughout the entire calendar year, was a direct result of a lack of inventory at the dealer level due to idled production of the compact luxury crossover. The ongoing global microchip shortage forced Cadillac to halt production of the XT4 at the Cadillac Fairfax plant in mid-February of 2021, and assembly resumed only for the 2022 model year.

This chain of events caused Cadillac XT4 inventory at the dealer level to be extremely limited throughout the 2021 calendar year. Despite the poor sales figures posted in 2021, we expect Cadillac XT4 sales to improve during the 2022 calendar year as the microchip shortage eases and XT4 production remains at full capacity.
