2022 Cadillac XT4 Gets New Safety Alert Package

The 2022 Cadillac XT4 brings a few minor changes over the previous model year, one of which is the addition of a new Safety Alert Package that bundles several active safety features.

The new Safety Alert package (production code B26) is offered as an option on the 2022 Cadillac XT4 in either the Premium Luxury or Sport trim levels, as per Cadillac’s Y trim level  strategy. The package includes Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert (UKC), as well as Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG).

Previously, both of the aforementioned features were equipped as standard on the 2021 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, and not available on Luxury. With the addition of the new Safety Alert Package for the 2022 model year, the features become a $200 option on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims, and is not available on the base Luxury trim.

Several other updates to the 2022 Cadillac XT4 include the deletion of three exterior paint colors: Autumn Metallic (paint code GM6), Garnet Metallic (paint code GLR), and Shadow Metallic (paint code JGI). Another deleted feature is the red caliper option (production code J6F), previously offered on the 2021 XT4.

The 2021 Cadillac XT4 rides on the E2 platform and features the turbocharged 2.0L gasoline engine (production code LSY) under the hood, making 237 horsepower and 258 foot-pounds of torque. Power is delivered to either the front or all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. The small luxury crossover is made at the Fairfax plant outside Kansas City, Kansas, with production of the 2022 model having begun on November 8th, 2021.

In Europe and Russia, the XT4 features the same gasoline engine, but is also offered with a 2.0L turbo-diesel option rated at 174 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.
